In the winter of 2016, Aude and Baptiste Lombard were elated to discover they were expecting their second child - until the devastating news came that she was unlikely to live after birth.
Juliette tells the heart-moving story of a little girl whose brief life transcends the short time she came to stay. Most people would summarise their story as that of parents who lost a baby with Trisomy 13, but, as the author says, that would mean missing out on the many learnings that came wrapped in their journey.
Amidst the sadness were profound moments of joy, light and peace that often felt like gifts from heaven. They learned that life has meaning and a purpose no matter how short.
Writing with courage and honesty, Aude uncovers a rich tapestry of human emotions as her family journey through pain and joy in equal measure. Readers are taken into the intimate space of her mothering heart as she relives the eight months Juliette grew inside her, ever hoping yet knowing this child would not be with them for long.
The book is available online (as paperback and eBook) or may be ordered at your main bookstore
We have received many testimonials following the french publication of the book and publications in the press
It was important for me to read this book although not concerned by the topic: I am neither a woman nor a parent and I have never been confronted with a disability. And yet, I really devoured this book without raising my head. This testimony led me to reflect on my vision of life through yours. This is a book that I will treasure in my library and that I will probably read several times.

It's a story that strengthened me and moved me.
I would encourage anyone who is going through or has gone through ANY tough situation to read this book - the encouragements and lessons learnt are applicable to us all. A very well written, honest, open account of true life with encouragement for the future.
I wanted to thank you for the richness of its content, for all that you were able to draw from your experience, however painful it may have been. Your book allowed me to put words on our experience and journey, my personal questions, so thank you very much.

The book is really amazing. It is such a credit to your little girl Juliette and a beautiful book for anyone going through hard difficult times. It’s like a guide on how to gain strength and hold onto positivity and hope when life feels so difficult. You have done so well. Being able to tell your story clearly and in detail with some humour too is just super admirable.
